  Morinda citrifolia. The Noni tree is famous in the Pacific islands for its ethnobotanical value, from making dyes to treating skin infections. The Malay salad ulam is based on Noni leaves. This is a fairly easy tree to grow if protected from frosts and can start fruiting in less than a year from seed. Similar to the infamous durian, the ripening Noni fruit has an unfortunate odor reminiscent of a dysentery ward.
